Mimi Patten, FNP
Biography:
I was born and raised in Northampton so I am well aware of the beauty and benefits of living in this area. I went to college at BC where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I then moved back to Hamp and took a position as an RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Baystate where I worked for 4 years. During that time, I earned my Masters Degree in Nursing at UMASS so that I could work as a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care. I am certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner meaning that I am certified to care for an individual throughout the lifespan however, my love, my experience and where I am happiest is in pediatrics. Pediatrics is unique in that I am able to form relationships with patients as well as with patients’ families. Watching kids grow, change and develop is thrilling to me and I am honored to do this type of work. My patients make me laugh out loud every day but they also humble me.
Personally, I’m married to a great guy and together we have 2 wonderful kids. I’m very involved with my kids’ school and volunteer as the PTO president. Having two young kids currently allows me to work ¾ time at NAP. I’m an avid quilter but also enjoy fishing (especially down the Cape surfcasting) and hiking.
