Cindy Mayo, RN
Cindy Mayo, our wonderful long-time practice administrator at Northampton Area Pediatrics, has retired after 20 joyful years of serving the children of western Massachusetts. When Cindy started at Northampton Area Pediatrics the practice had 1 office with 4 doctors and approximately 10 nurses and clerical staff. Over the years, Cindy capably guided us to our current practice with 2 office sites including 8 doctors, 2 nurse practitioners, and approximately 40 nurses and clerical staff. Cindy has done all of this with great enthusiasm, compassion, and fun in her dedication to the children and families served at Northampton Area Pediatrics. We all will miss her, and we wish Cindy a happy retirement.
Biography
My husband and I first came to the Pioneer Valley so that he could attend U. Mass after being discharged from the Navy. We have never left since then! We live in Williamsburg where we raised our now adult daughters and always enjoy “coming home” to the valley.
There are many changes in medicine that are happening very quickly and it keeps me on my toes to keep ahead of the track.
I went to Beverly Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1972 and worked at Beverly Hospital until we moved to Western Mass a few years later. I worked at Baystate Medical Center in the intensive care unit for twelve years before settling into NAP twenty years ago. I truly love working with the children and families and cherish many memories that I’ve shared with lots of wonderful people.
My job as the Practice Administrator is challenging every day and I have a lot of fun doing it. There are many changes in medicine that are happening very quickly and it keeps me on my toes to keep ahead of the track. We are committed to great care for our patients and also to keep up with the technology needed to do this well. The providers here are all very bright and kind along with our amazing staff that I am very proud to be working with. The way we all work together is just what it takes to provide terrific Pediatric care.
