Annette Mercier, LPN

Annette Mercier has provided a strong foundation for NAP over the last 11.5 years. She has been described as a "rock" who always manages to keep things running smoothly. She now has the permanent position of charge nurse in Amherst.

An interview with Annette...

What was it like when you started working here?

Our second office was in Hadley rather than Amherst and it had only one provider.  Records were on paper, so there were no scribes.  Our evening hours were only from 7-8 PM.  The biggest change over the last decade was moving from paper to computerized medical records.

What is your role at NAP and what are your special interests within the office?

I do so many things that there are a lot of things that I do without even thinking about it!  I review the medical records of incoming patients and enter medications, vaccines and diagnoses in the computer.  I order vaccines for the Amherst office.  My favorite position is charge nurse since I like being bossy!

I was the first person to scribe when we started with computerized medical records, and I was the first person to scan documents.

What are your favorite things about working here?

I laugh every day!  The staff is like an extended family to me as my family does not live in this area.  I have been keeping a list of the funniest things that kids have done or said.

What are your interests outside of work?

Reading, cross stitching, and keeping score for my son's wrestling team.  I have been cross stitching for longer than I have been working here. I especially like to make wedding presents and Secret Santa presents for the office.
