Although
I was born and raised in New York, I have lived in Northampton longer
than anywhere else. After graduating from Providence College and
Harvard Medical School, I traveled to Ohio with my wife, Donna,
for internship training. Our two daughters were born during residency
training in Cleveland (Megan) and Durham, North Carolina (Hannah).
The next several years I served in the US Navy taking care of children
of military families where we lived in Quantico, Virginia.
After moving to Northampton in 1976 I had the challenging
pleasure of establishing our pediatric practice as a solo physician.
In subsequent years I was very fortunate to have other terrific
pediatricians join me to take care of children in our area. Having
a great team of fellow pediatricians enabled me to earn a Master
in Public Health degree at UMass in 1987 as well as to have more
personal time.
One of the greatest joys in serving as a pediatrician
is being part of children's and parents' lives as they grow and
develop. A special delight at this stage of my career is to help
care for the children of children I once knew who have now grown
up and started families of their own.
Outside of the office, I enjoy kayaking, walking
our dog Scout, and traveling.
