What is the difference between seasonal and swine flu?
My daughter has a fever, cough, body aches, sore throat, fatigue and chills. I think she has the seasonal flu but should I have her checked for the swine flu to be safe?
The symptoms of the seasonal and swine flu are identical and are as you have listed them in your question. Currently we are seeing swine flu as the seasonal flu season hasn’t quite started. Most patients with the flu do not need to come in to the office as the treatment is rest, lots of fluids and Tylenol or ibuprofen for the fever. We should see your daughter if she can’t keep fluids down, has trouble breathing or is lethargic.
