February 2010 Employee of the Month
Congratulations to Robin LaRochelle, RMA, February's Employee of the Month!
Everyone loves working with Robin. She works hard and has a great sense of humor. Here are some of her impressions of her time at NAP.
How long have you been working at NAP?
Ten years in June. Time flies when you’re having fun.
What was it like when you started working here? How has your role changed over the years?
I worked on the floor like the other nurses. Now I am the “lab queen.” This means I will handle rapid strep tests, throat cultures and hematocrits (to evaluate for anemia). I read the urine cultures, clearn rooms, start treatments when needed, dispense pulmoaide machines, and perform Pertussis cultures, RSV swabs, and flu swabs. [A fellow employee also reports how Robin has a “special touch” with OAE machine and can perform this test when others cannot].
What is your role at NAP and what are your special interests within the office?
I’ll go and do whatever I am asked to do.
What are your interests outside the office?
My grandchildren. I have 14 grandchildren ranging from ages 15 years down to 3 years old.
I go to the games (basketball and football), whenever I can. I love watching their games and try to support them whenever I can. I like to cross stitch and I crochet every now and then.
What are your favorite things about working here?
I love working here. I love the kids and the employees. I like the whole thing; There is nothing I don’t like here. This job is a home away from home. That is how I feel about it. Before working at NAP, I was a nurse’s aide at Hampshire care.
