Please visit www.napeds.com for upcoming flu vaccine clinics. We are holding clinics on Saturdays in Northampton and weeknight evening clinics in both our Northampton and Amherst offices. Clinics are by appointment only. Please call 413-584-8700 to schedule your flu vaccine appointment today.
If your child receives a seasonal flu vaccination at school or at a local flu clinic, please tell us about it so that we can update your child's medical record. Please log on to the NAP Patient Portal to message our office so that this information is entered directly into your child's chart. If you are not portal enabled, please use the "Contact Us" messaging to notify us of the flu vaccine.
Please note that pharmacies will typically not adminster flu vaccine to children (age 17 years and under).
“Award in Residency”
Dr. Jana Cable received the Daniel Trant Lareau Award in June 2014. This is an award for “Excellence in Clinical Judgment” that goes to a resident who goes beyond their duties to advocate for their patients while displaying excellence in clinical practice and judgment.
This award was started in 2011 by one of Hasbro Children’s Hospital’s former residents, Thirza Lareau. Her infant son, Daniel, would not have survived if it was not for one of the pediatric residents who diagnosed him with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
Dr. Cable had a toddler boy under her care in the ICU during her residency. She diagnosed him with midgut volvulus that required emergency surgery and saved his life.
Jana is pictured above with Daniel’s grandparents, who live in Western Massachusetts, and came to visit her at NAP’s Amherst office. Congratulations, Dr. Cable!
