Pediatric Care in Northampton, MA
Northampton Area Pediatrics provides comprehensive care for children, Our expert pediatricians in Northampton are highly trained and experienced providing the best diagnostic and treatment for a range of illnesses and annual check ups in Northampton, Amherst and several surrounding cities. Our pediatric clinic in Northampton provides the highest quality of care in the following areas:
Well Child Visits/Immunizations
We are dedicated to the idea that prevention of illness is the best way to treat it. Through annual visits (more frequent for infants) we can get to know your child and your family and provide the personalized care that every child deserves. Screening tests done at each visit can pick up conditions early, before they become a problem. Anticipatory guidance can help you know what to expect and prepare for over the coming year.
Immunizations are one of the most important ways that we can keep our community safe and healthy. We follow the ACIP, CDC, and AAP guidelines on vaccines.
Same Day Sick Visits
We are committed to being available to see you and your family. We are open 365 days a year, with extended hours on weekdays and full day availability for sick visits all weekend long. We can handle most basic pediatric illnesses and injuries, and some complicated ones besides. If you have a serious or life threatening condition, please go to the emergency room.
Call our main line (413) 584-8700 and you will be connected to a nurse any time after hours.
Asthma Rechecks
For children with chronic asthma, regular visits help to make sure that your child’s asthma is under control. We can do exercise pulmonary function tests in the office, and can arrange home visits with a community nurse to review things that you can do at home.
Medication Rechecks
In addition to the counseling and behavioral services provided by our in-house behavioral health team, NAP providers can manage medications for ADHD and anxiety with the support of the MCPAP program, a group of psychiatrists and care coordinators from Baystate and UMass Memorial. For children on chronic medications, we generally like to have children come in every 3 months.
Office Visits
We can see your child for a variety of issues including sports injuries, lacerations, wart removal and pre-operative visits. Our providers also offer conferences to discuss more complex issues like behavior and/or mental health. We have prenatal consults for expectant parents and meet and greets for older patients transferring into the practice.
Flu and COVID Vaccine Clinics
Our October Flu clinics are complete but we have opened some new dates in November.
Covid Vaccine clinics for ages 5-11 are taking place every weekend in November and December. Details below.
Nurse Triage
We have a top-notch team of nurses available to answer your phone calls or email messages. They can provide immediate advice, schedule same-day sick visits, and handle prescription refill requests as well as school forms or work letters. We ask that you give us 48 hours to respond to prescription or form requests. You can also contact your pharmacy to send us an automatic refill request.
