Water Safety
It feels like we’ve skipped right through spring and are right into the heat of summer. For lots of people, that means long days spent in the pool, or at the beach, and just playing in the water. While you’re out there in the water, remember these quick water safety tips to stay safe (from Safekids.org)
Also, many of you may have seen this article about how to recognize drowning, but now is a good time for a refresher.
Have fun, stay cool, and be safe!!
Did you know that this week is National Dog Bite Prevention week? Dogs can make great companions for kids and great additions to families, but we want you to be safe! The AAP has some great information here about how to avoid dog bites, and what to do if it does happen (hint: call us if you’re concerned!)
We wanted to remind all of our families at Northampton Area Pediatrics that we continue to be available around the clock for your children’s care. We know that kids don’t just get sick between 9 and 5 on weekdays. We know that it always seems to be Friday night when your toddler starts complaining that his ear hurts. Saturday and Sunday afternoons are prime times for kids to sprain their knees at soccer practice, or to need stitches after falling off their bike. For decades, NAP has been open every day of the year (including holidays), with extended evening and weekend hours, specifically to serve our families’ needs. If your child has an urgent medical need, call our office at 413-584-8700 to talk with a pediatric professional who knows your child and who can see you right away.
Visit our website to learn more about our walk-in hours and other ways we can help serve you and your families.
