Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Hello, I am Adam Blackburn, one of the Behavioral Health Consultants at NAP. I got my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at San Francisco State in 1998 and became a Californian LMFT (licensed marriage family therapist) in 2004. I moved to Massachusetts in 2018 and am now licensed in this state. Despite the title of my license, I have worked in a variety of settings including early childhood mental health and hospital based partial hospitalization with adults.
I have experience working with families, couples, hospital/ER assessments for mental health, dual diagnosis and play therapy among other things. Before becoming a clinician, I worked as a preschool teacher while getting my bachelor’s degree. I also grew up overseas as a child of a diplomat for the US State Department. I was lucky enough to grow up in places like Nigeria, Bahrain and London. I love being part of the IBH team here as it is a joy working with families and kids of all ages!
